So not that it has anything to do with my writing, but today I thought I’d share with you what’s new at the Post Office.
I mailed out a book with http://www.paperbackswap.com last week. If you’re not familiar with that website, it’s a site where you swap books with people for free. Great site by the way. Anyway, I wrapped up the book, stuck some stamps on and mailed it out with the rest of the outgoing mail at my office. A few days later, I found the same book in my mailbox at home. Apparently because of its size, you can’t mail it out with stamps unless you hand it to a postal worker at a post office. When I asked my mailman at work about, he just shrugged his shoulders and said “Blame 9/11 for that.”
Here’s the offending book:
As I was walking into the post office on Friday with my threatening book, I found myself wondering … if the pen is mightier than the sword, is the book mightier than the bomb? The post office apparently doesn’t know.
Just something to think about.
